Nat Friedman, head of product at Meta Superintelligence Labs, emphasized that while Muse was developed from the ground up, it drew on the innovative features of OpenClaw, particularly in terms of agent workflow and user interaction. This revelation gained traction after Ansh Nanda, co-founder of an AI app, highlighted the similarities between Muse and OpenClaw, suggesting that Muse could be seen as a more mainstream adaptation of the original concept.

The acknowledgment of OpenClaw's influence also extends to specific technical elements, such as the SOUL.md file used in both systems, which defines an agent's personality and values. Users have noted that the content within these files is strikingly similar, raising questions about the extent of the integration of OpenClaw's design principles into Muse.
