Project Glasswing aims to secure software using AI capabilities

Project Glasswing, launched by Anthropic in collaboration with major tech companies like Amazon Web Services, Google, and Microsoft, aims to enhance cybersecurity through advanced AI capabilities. The initiative leverages Anthropic's unreleased frontier model, Claude Mythos Preview, which has demonstrated exceptional coding skills by identifying thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities across major operating systems and web browsers. This collective effort is crucial as AI's rapid advancement poses significant risks to software security, necessitating a proactive approach to safeguard critical infrastructure.

As part of Project Glasswing, the participating organizations will utilize the capabilities of Mythos Preview to improve their defensive security measures, sharing insights and findings across the industry. The initiative also extends access to over 40 additional organizations involved in maintaining critical software infrastructure, enabling them to utilize the model for scanning and securing both proprietary and open-source systems.
